What styles of bedroom window shutters are available?
The very first thing to consider when it comes to shutters for bedrooms is what level of privacy and light you want. For bedrooms we suggest these shutter styles:

Café style shutters. These shutters cover the lower portion of your window, leaving the top clear, allowing maximum light in your bedroom while retaining privacy at the bottom. They work beautifully on medium and tall windows and when paired with blinds or curtains for more of a blackout effect.

Full height shutters. These shutters are our most popular for bedrooms because they cover the entire window. Full height shutters bring both privacy and elegance to any space.

Tier on tier shutters. This style of shutter works well for bedroom windows; it has the same practicality of full height shutters, but also comes with added flexibility of opening either the top or bottom panels independently.
Are DIY shutters easy to measure and fit yourself?

Blackout Shutters For Your Bedroom – Do They Exist?
The short answer is – no.
The reason, as mentioned above, is that shutter panels by necessity are made with a very small gap between the shutter blades and the solid part of the panel. This ensures that the louvres can move smoothly.
However, it is possible to fit a blackout roller blind discreetly behind the shutter panels and within the shutter frame. You can then pull it down at night to stop light filtering through the shutters.
Some customers combine curtains with a blackout lining with their interior shutters. This is most commonly in combination with café shutters (on the bottom half of the window only).
Do Shutters Improve Bedroom Insulation?
Shutters form an effective barrier between your windows and the outside. If you opt for full height plantation shutters, they will trap heat in for longer, providing extra insulation to your bedroom.
Are Shutters for Bedroom Windows Easy to Maintain?
Window shutters are a lot easier to maintain and clean than blinds and curtains. If your shutters become stained, all you need is a damp cloth to wipe away most stains.
When it comes to dusting, all you need is a cloth or feather duster to clean the shutter slats easily, keeping them dust free.
