How to order shutters
We’ve worked hard to ensure that ordering window shutters online is both simple and stress-free. Buying shutters online is the best way to make sure you pay a fair price for your window coverings without having to haggle with an in-home salesperson.
Just because you order your shutters online it doesn’t mean you need to compromise on either quality or design. Our shutters are made from only the best hardwood and polyvinyl materials (no cheap MDF shutters here) and they are fully customisable to suit your own personal interior style.
Step 1: Measure your windows
Measuring your windows is not difficult and all you need is a steel tape measure and somewhere to jot down your dimensions. We’ve created easy to follow step-by-step guides for all windows, including bays, to ensure you can’t go wrong.
If you get stuck with measuring, fear not! We may be an online company but we are also passionate about good old fashioned customer service. We have a team of highly trained shutter experts ready to assist you if needed. Just get in touch by phone, email or use our online chat. You can even send us photos of your window for our team to mark up to show you exactly where to take your measurements.
Step 2: Configure your shutters
If you haven't bought shutters before we recommend that you ‘shop by style’ to help you decide on the type of shutter that will best suit your window or room. We offer everything from full height to cafe style, tier on tier to solid shutters.
You’ll then be able to choose your preferred material and start customising your item. We recommend Waterproof PVC if your shutter might get wet or splashed, but other than that our Essential Hybrawood or Natural Hardwood shutters are perfect in any room. It just comes down to your personal preference and budget.
Once you start configuring your shutters you’ll be able to enter your width and height dimensions, choose your colour, panel configuration, slat size, tilt rod and frame type. We’ve made it nice and easy, just click through the steps and add your finished shutter to your basket.
Step 3: Stick with DIY or add Installation
All of our shutters are supplied for easy 'do-it-yourself' installation as standard. Fitting shutters yourself is super simple and pockets the biggest possible cost saving. However we do also offer customers the option to ‘upgrade’ and add installation to their basket. Just enter your postcode and if we have a local fitter in your area you can add this service to your order.
Step 4: Choose your delivery option
We offer both standard and express delivery options for all UK orders. Standard delivery typically takes around 9-11 weeks for your order to be dispatched and charges will be between £15- £50 depending on the size of your order. Express delivery typically takes only 6-8 weeks for dispatch (sometimes quicker!) and charges start from only £30.
Why does it take several weeks to dispatch shutters? The short answer is our shutters are made at our exclusive facility in China and they are also all made-to-order. As such our dispatch timescales account for both production time and transit to the UK.
Step 5: The “sense check” call
Your shutters are completely bespoke so our team of experts will give you a quick call to discuss your order after it has been placed and paid for via the website. This is just for added peace of mind and also gives you the opportunity to ask any last minute questions. We don’t charge for this service and often receive great feedback from customers who found it to be really reassuring.
After that you’ll either have a ‘check-measure’ (if you added installation to your order) or we’ll send you a final confirmation and start making your shutters!
