Why choose a Mid rail?
A mid rail is a horizontal bar that divides your shutter panel into two sections. It adds strength and stability to larger shutters and allows the louvres above and below the mid rail to move independently — giving you greater flexibility with light and privacy.
Mid rails are essential for certain shutter sizes and configurations, but you can also choose one for aesthetic or practical reasons, such as aligning with a window frame or enhancing privacy.
Good to know: During manufacture, the mid rail position may be adjusted by up to 45mm to maximise the number of louvres. For detailed guidance, please refer to our measuring instructions.
