All in the details

Materials

Our bestselling Water Resistant Faux Wood shutters offer the look of real wood with waterproof, premium PVC — ideal for kitchens and bathrooms. Made in the UK from lightweight, durable PVC, they resist warping and cracking to stay pristine for years. Available in two timeless shades of white, they arrive within 7 working days and include a market-leading 10-year warranty.

Our Natural Hardwood shutters are crafted from fast-growing paulownia wood, sustainably and ethically sourced from responsibly managed forests. Durable and built to last, they’re made from 100% natural hardwood with a smooth grain, perfect for larger windows and doors. Choose from a range of paint colours and rich stains including our most popular Vivid and Traffic White whose slat ends feature a subtle washed effect for a naturally finished appearance.

Please note: All CafĂ©-style shutters feature visible panel edges with a washed effect giving a natural finish.

Central, Offset, Clearview or Hidden?

A Tilt Rod is the mechanism that connects the slats and enables them to tilt together. We offer different options to suit your style and preference.

Central - A traditional look with the rod positioned in the front and centre of each panel.

Offset - Similar to Central but the rod is positioned offset (to the hinged side) on the front of each panel.

Clearview - Clean and contemporary. The slats are connected by a discreet metal rod on the rear of the panels. The rod is offset to the side so it is only semi-visible.

Hidden - A fully-concealed mechanism that is built into the stiles of the panels. You can't see it from any angle so its perfect if you are looking for that modern, minimalist look.

Which Shutter Frame is right for my Window?

All of our shutters are supplied with a frame as standard. Choosing the right frame is important as it is used to fix the shutter to your window or surrounding area.

Side Insert Z Frame (IM)- This frame is an Inside Mount option, meaning it can be used for shutters being installed within a recess.

Side Insert Z Frame (IM) - This is another Inside Mount option. The Z frame is positioned at the front of the recess as it has a lip that wraps around onto the surrounding wall. The Z frame is positioned at the front of the recess as it has a lip that wraps around onto the surrounding wall. If you have a projecting window sill don't forget to add a 'sill cut' which means the lip is removed on the bottom frame side.

Beaded L Frame - This frame is our Inside Mount option for the Waterproof PVC frame. It can be used for shutters being installed within a recess. It can be requested with pre-drilled holes and cover caps.

Double Insert L Frame - This is an Outside Mount option, meaning it can be used for installing shutters directly onto a window frame or the wall surrounding the window. Select this frame type if your window does not have a recess.

Hinges to Suit Every Home

Hinges connect your shutter panels to the frame — or to each other, depending on your chosen layout. Our high-quality fittings are designed for smooth, effortless movement, making it easy to open your shutters wide and let the light flood in.

Choose from a range of painted and metal finishes to complement your shutter colour and match your interior style perfectly.

Why choose a Mid rail?

A mid rail is a horizontal bar that divides your shutter panel into two sections. It adds strength and stability to larger shutters and allows the louvres above and below the mid rail to move independently — giving you greater flexibility with light and privacy.

Mid rails are essential for certain shutter sizes and configurations, but you can also choose one for aesthetic or practical reasons, such as aligning with a window frame or enhancing privacy.

Good to know: During manufacture, the mid rail position may be adjusted by up to 45mm to maximise the number of louvres. For detailed guidance, please refer to our measuring instructions.

TIP: If you're thinking of choosing Tier-on-Tier shutters… many customers find that a Full Height shutter with a mid rail gives the same look and function, with fewer moving parts - and at a lower cost.
