Shutters are Eco Friendly - Why ?

In 2010 Edinburgh World Heritage undertook a thermal imagery test which concluded that if wooden shutters are closed at dusk, heat leakage through large Victorian and Georgian windows was effectively stopped.

BBC News also covered the story, and reported that wooden shutters when closed ‘act like double glazing’.
