We're all going through extraordinary changes at the moment and it can be hard to keep up. Here at The Shutter Store we're doing our utmost to ensure our excellent service continues. Don’t hesitate to let us know if you need any type of help with your shutters.
We’ve put together some frequently asked questions so you know all there is to know:
Q: I’d like to place an order for shutters. Can I still do this?
Of course! We’re open for business as usual, and believe you can make most of the time indoors by finally cracking on with your DIY list!
Q: Where are the shutters made?
Our shutters are made to measure in a state-of-the-art facility in China. We are in constant communication with our factory and the production line is up and running smoothly.
Q: Can I still get in touch with The Shutter Store team?
Please do! Our shutter experts are working from home so we all stay safe. You can reach us via
email, live chat or by simply giving us a
call.
We are still on hand to advise you on every aspect of your shutter order; from design, technical questions and tips on installation. We would always recommend sending in a photo of your window so we can offer specific advice. Please get in touch, we’d love to help.
Q: Are your lead times much longer now?
Our lead time is at it’s usual 10-12 weeks. We make sure we regularly update the
Delivery page on our website if anything were to change.
The only difference currently is that we cannot offer our express delivery, but we’re hoping to have that option back available very soon.
Q: Will someone visit my house to measure for shutters?
That’s the best bit! We are purely a DIY company so you measure and install the shutters yourself. There’s no surveyors or consultants involved!
Q: I have already placed an order for shutters. When will they arrive?
All orders are due to arrive with you in line with the lead times quoted when you confirmed your order. These times are on our
Delivery page.
We do envisage some minor delays from the port, but we’re working hard to ensure this process runs smoothly. We’re updating customers as soon as we receive information, but if you have any questions regarding this, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.
Q: Is it safe to receive the shutters and their boxes from the couriers? Can I catch anything from the packaging?
Our hauliers, staff in the warehouses and delivery couriers are all keeping in line with government advice on safe handling and social distancing.
When your order arrives it will be left outside your property and there is currently no signature required for you to accept the delivery.
There’s very limited risk of contamination through cardboard, but as an extra precaution we advise you to leave the shutter boxes 72 hours before you open them, or simply wear gloves and a mask when opening them and ensure you dispose of the boxes themselves carefully.
Q: Can I install the shutters or does someone need to come round to do it for me?
Another plus side is that our shutters have been designed so that they piece together and can be installed by even the most novice DIY-ers!
Some customers hire a tradesperson to carry out the installation, but please be aware this it is currently not advised to have someone visit your home.
We always encourage customers to give it a go themselves, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is, and the sense of achievement you will get from knowing you did it all by yourself!
All you will need is an electric drill, screwdriver, measuring tape and a spirit level. Our shutter experts are on hand to answer any of your questions and guide you through the process. We even have online video tutorials for anyone who gets stuck!
Q: Do you give discounts to NHS staff and emergency workers?
We are proud to support those who dedicate their lives to the health and well-being of others. Special offers and discounts are available for Blue Light Card members. Go to
www.bluelightcard.co.uk to find out more.
A huge thank you to all our staff and loyal customers for their patience and support at this time.
We encourage everyone to follow the government guidelines and stay safe and stay home.
