Measuring for shuttersWhich frame are you measuring for?
Recess Window INSIDE MOUNT fixing
For windows which have a reveal or a recess area. Inside mount refers to the direction of the fixing holes through the frame. The shutter frame can be installed either at the front of the recess which allows the panels to open back 180 degrees or alternatively the frame can be positioned tight up to the window.
Non-Recess Window OUTSIDE MOUNT fixing
For windows with no recess or reveal. Outside mount refers to the direction of the fixing holes. An outside mount means the shutter frame will be fixed directly onto the surface window framing or a wall. A typical window type needing this mount is a sash window or if you have inward opening windows.
3 Section Bay Window
Windows with 3 separate sections should follow this guide. Depending on the window design layout the 3 separate shutter frames may need to butt up close together or install as 3 separate ‘outside mount’ shutter frames.
Box Bay Window
Bay windows with 90° right angle side returns, generally found in Victorian properties. Box Bays can have a left and right return or a single side return. In addition to shutter frames we also supply corner posts to use during the installation.
Curved bays, often known as sunshine bays consist of 4, 5 or 6 section windows. We will supply a shutter frame for each section in the curved bay.
